The client, a Global Digital Infrastructure company, has been growing their data centre division internationally. They had identified a number of build locations, sponsored a high-level design, and wanted to engage an engineering service provider to support these data centres once built and operational. VIPA Digital were engaged as an independent third party to structure and administer the tender process.



By working closely with key client stakeholders (operations, management, procurement, delivery and design, legal), the VIPA team developed a tailored two-stage tender process (Invitation to Tender, ITT, and Request for Proposal, RFP) that captured all key requirements. This included the creation of all necessary documentation, ITT and RFP tender response management, interviews and final recommendations. 


Whilst these facilities had not been constructed, the client were keen to engage an outsourced engineering service provider ahead of construction completion. VIPA Digital’s substantial experience in data centre operations and ongoing communication with the client, meant that the tender process was able to adapt to accommodate any changing requirements and successfully carried out.




The project confirmed that a detailed tender process was required to find an Engineering Service Provider that met all the client’s needs, across multiple locations.
